The Killers...

Your going down my friend. Down hard. Like a rock.

The Killers talked about the album they've apparently been working on...“… I have to realize that people aren’t going to like us.. We just have to make the best album that we can… This album is one of the best albums in the past 20 years. There’s nothing that touches this album. And that sounds like I’m being cocky, but I’m just so excited… I hope people hear this album and realize that you don’t need to worry…”

I didn't ever like Mr. Brighside much. And your fucked in the head if you think you wrote anything similar to the best album of the last 10 years much less 20. This all coming from a guy who looks like he's Boy George's lost long son, I cant really fault the frontman for saying that though, he wears eyeshadow even when he isnt in a music video. I just got a feeling your going to fade away like yesterdays news.

Zoom Zoom

City driving is a unique experience that I love. Strange as it may sound but I enjoy it. Its not gridlock and its not wide open road 4 lanes wide. And thats the basis of its total uniqueness. Pedestrians everywhere, cabs jumping lane to lane, busses making their stops, blocking the right lane, getting caught behind a suv making a left turn. the one ways, the side streets, the rolling stops, the gas and the break, the gas again, and the break again, the whistle of the traffic cop, the honks, the radio, the buildings all around, shops and the changing architecture all around. the paved streets and the potholes, No left turn, one way, pedestrian crossings, loading zones, 3 way intersections, greens, reds, arrows, sirens. Everyone in a hurry, jumping at every opening, the excitement of it all more than makes up for that truck you got stuck behind or the taxi who turned right from the left lane in front of you.

I feel bad for the people who live in the 'burbs, the small towns and the nowhere-vills, the planned out villages where everything flows perfectly with their 4 way stops and protected left hand turns. popping the breaks and jumping lanes without thought of a signal, wheeling around an corner that wasn't quite squared off makes driving worth doing. I can't imagine knowing that every place I've driven had completely controlled intersections where nothing bad every happened. I might say its just my age, I'm predetermined to like that sort of thing because I'm young, but I've always liked it. It makes me feel like I was actually going somewhere, not just traveling, not just crawling in traffic staring mindlessly at the back bumper for the last 20 miles. I can see why the sconnies hate us though its a completely different style of driving and I think driving like them is boring as hell, I MISS the movement, light traffic on the highway is not the same, any chance I get to deal with traffic is a welcome distraction to the straight a-way interstate with 3 cars as far as the eye can see. And you can always tell someone who's never driven the city streets before, they just are not equipped to deal with implied rules of city driving, its not laid back, its not relaxing but its entertaining as hell.
